Has someone ever said that they like/love you and then their actions said something completely different?
How did that make you feel?
Maybe you felt:
😞frustrated
😡angry
☚ī¸rejected
đŸ˜Ŗneglected
đŸ˜ĸupset
đŸ¤¯confused
Whatever it was, situations like this (especially over time) lead to reflection on the relationship and the person's role in your life.
Would you keep putting up with words and actions that didn't align? (the answer is HELL NO!)
If you wouldn't tolerate neglect and confusion from others and you wouldn't show up half-ass to the people you love, why do you do it to yourself?
The same standards (if not more) should be applied to the relationship with yourself. Self-love is not just a trend or nice words (it may start with some positive words) but it is a choice (over and over again), it's work and it takes time, energy and action.

This never used to resonate with me, I did not think making my bed was a big deal for a number of reasons that ran deeper than laziness:
I did not make my bed daily because I thought:
👎I am too busy and have no time, I should get up and get moving with my day
👎My mom isn't here to see it (sorry, ma 🙃)
👎No one will see it and it will just get undone later (ESPECIALLY in lockdown)
👎If I make my bed I'll be forced to move the ball of laundry at the foot đŸ¤Ģ
Until now I didn't see the value in this simple chore until I realized it's NOT a chore, it's the first and simplest act of self-love I can do in the day. I'm not making it for others, I am making it for ME.
Making my bed means:
💗I am loving myself first
💗I am starting my day with a win (goal: make bed: ✅ )
💗I lower my stress, seeing a made bed feels and looks good when I walk in the room

Stop Settling, Crumbs Won't Feed Your Soul.

We tend to settle for less when we’re not in a good place. When we’re not coming from love and taking care of ourselves (mentally, physically & spiritually) it’s easy to spiral and make quick fixes to whatever is going on.

This leaves us feeling empty, unfulfilled and searching/wanting more.

What does that look like?

You’re always tired (putting everything before you is exhausting).
You complain about your job (A LOT)
You live in the past (I wish I had done this....If I hadn’t done that…)
You think more than you do (Someday I’ll…)
You justify your lack of luster because you see other people not living their fullest life (no one else seems happy…so this must be normal).
You blame other people
You live with a knot in your stomach
You have a long list of excuses for not taking care of yourself

What does that mean? For me, I focus on these areas of my mind & body:

Energy
Respect
Awareness & Action

1. Energy Check: How are you feeling in this moment? Do you feel drained or depleted? Do you feel light or heavy? This is the starting point of your road map. From here you have to ask yourself, “Am I REALLY respecting my mind and body?” Often times we and our world demand so much of ourselves that we forget to honor the very thing that allows us to function and live every single day. Feel ALL the Feels.

I’ve been going through some stuff, this year I have experienced loss & chapters ending in different ways….big and small….through work, my grandmother passing and relationships (romantic and friendly). Some of it was by choice; some was beyond my control, some just naturally ended/drifted. No matter the details they have all resulted in empty pockets in my life. Some holes are tiny, barely noticeable, while others are craters…completely shaking my world. If you’re going through something or experiencing some type of loss, please remember:

It’s ok NOT be ok. It’s ok to feel sad, mad or frustrated and it’s normal for those feelings to come in waves. Don’t fight it, it’s your life and you can cry if you want to!

Don’t feel guilty for feeling any certain way and don’t compare yourself to others. Your story is YOUR story.

There’s ALWAYS a lesson, even if you don’t see it now…it will come....

Small Steps WILL Flip The Script!

Small steps will flip the script. Trying to change old patterns & adopting healthier ones can be overwhelming. When you are fed up you are fueled to make moves & take on a BIG adjustment.

You don’t move at all or eat right & then add a daily 75min workout & juicing.
You never stop, grab phone when you wake, spiral through & then try to meditate 90 min every day at sunrise.

These are GREAT goals but going from 0-100 in a short time will most likely lead to: Burn out:doing too much too fast and giving up
Guilt:unrealistic goals make you feel bad when you don’t meet them
Victim Mentality:You’ve tried, nothing works & you feel more stuck than before Unaligned:extremes don’t last, even if laser focused on that thing you’re most likely neglecting other areas of your life, shifting the issue.
